At 21, we know that weddings are about bringing people together around a table to share food, wine and laughter. While we are not licensed for ceremonies, our private dining room and restaurant spaces are the ideal backdrop for wedding breakfasts and receptions in the heart of Newcastle.

Our Private Dining Room is discreetly separated from the main restaurant yet filled with light and atmosphere. With polished floorboards, panelled walls and contemporary touches, it offers an elegant setting that can be dressed to reflect your style. Whether you are planning an intimate gathering of 12 or a celebration for up to 44, the room adapts to you.
For larger parties, the entire restaurant can be yours. A full takeover gives you exclusive use of our main dining room for around 90 guests, with the Private Dining Room as a natural space for canapés, cocktails or dancing.

Your wedding breakfast deserves to be memorable. Our chefs have created menus that balance modern British cooking with the best seasonal ingredients. From relaxed lunches to indulgent dinners, each menu can be tailored to your party. Vegetarian, vegan and special dietary options are always available. Bespoke dishes can also be designed with our Head Chef.

What is the capacity for a wedding breakfast at 21?
Our Private Dining Room can seat from 12 up to 44 guests. For larger wedding parties, a full restaurant hire is available, accommodating around 90 guests, with the option of using the Private Dining Room alongside it.
Can we hire the entire restaurant for our wedding?
Yes. Exclusive hire of 21 is available, giving you full use of our main dining room as well as the Private Dining Room. This works beautifully for welcome drinks, canapés, or as a space for music and dancing after your wedding breakfast.
What menus are available for wedding celebrations?
You can choose from our seasonal private dining menus — breakfast, lunch, dinner or buffet — or work with our Head Chef to create something bespoke. Vegetarian, vegan and special dietary requirements are always catered for.
How flexible are you with any substitutions to the menu or the package?
Yes. Our pastry chefs can create a celebration cake designed to suit your day. Please let us know when enquiring if you’d like us to arrange this.
Can we decorate the room?
Absolutely. The space is yours to make your own. You can bring your own decorations, arrange for stylists or florists to set up, or leave details with our team ahead of the day.
What about drinks and wine?
Our wine list is extensive and our team will happily recommend pairings to suit your chosen menu. Drinks packages can be arranged for toasts, receptions and throughout your celebration.
Is there a minimum spend or hire charge?
There’s no hire charge for the Private Dining Room, though a minimum spend does apply. Costs depend on the menu you choose, the number of guests and any additional touches such as bespoke dishes or cakes.
Can we visit before booking?
Of course. We encourage couples to view the space in person. You can drop by when the restaurant is open or arrange a private show-round with Jen and the team.
Are there dedicated facilities for our guests?
The Private Dining Room is self-contained and serviced by its own team. Drinks are brought directly to the room, and restrooms are located conveniently nearby.
How private is the room?
Switchable privacy glass and window blinds allow you to choose your surroundings. The room can remain quiet and exclusively private or if you would like to feel part of the buzz, the glass can be switched – or open the doors – whatever you prefer.
